I spent almost a week to make this post. A bit 'out of laziness, partly' because it makes me sad to remember.
E 'was a unique experience and I think unique. During these seven days here in Italy, some things have happened, like I have not been confirmed to work, just to slip back into the "real world".
The dream is over. But the memory will always remain alive.
Memories of the wonderful hospitality of the family Saintignon: John, Angelica, Sebastian, and Vicente. For two weeks I was "one of them and I will never cease to say" thanks "for the opportunity you have given me.
Everyone asks me "now put into practice what you learned U.S. ?".... the answer is "difficult." It is difficult for the difference in mentality, and the infrastructure. Ok, it's still a ball and two baskets, but ... that's all that surrounds the sport is different.
In a high-school sport is an integral part of school life. It 'an opportunity to aspire to some "schoolarship" (scholarship) and access to some major universities, like one of those I visit. Every boy wants to play an opportunity: not Stanford or St.Marys, but receive a scholarship to a Junior College to study without the means to weigh on the family.
Some methods of work are almost improbonibili: 6 Workouts week for 2 hours, almost 3 months of physical training, also available to train in the morning before school ... well, not applicable, but if the other side of the ocean are in a bit later on this sport, perhaps a why there will be.
Ok, I agree with you that the sport is not everything, though, as I always say (but not only me, hihihihi), the truth is always in the middle! And get this half will be my mission in the coming years. I'd also like to participate in the execution of any gym in the sense of giving some advice to architects prior to construction. I am reminded of the building Mariano Comense: beautiful, God forbid, but could be much more functional. In short, this experience has served to widen my "knowledge" about everything about basketball and not just from a purely technical point of view.
I have improved a bit 'my English, although it is still flowing and spontaneous as I would, however, two weeks without a chance to speak Italian, we say that force you a little' to fend for themselves.
I met a better person that will always be important to me, and availability for the time I spent: coach John Saintignon. We were practically shoulder to shoulder for 2 weeks. Took me around California with his Mercedes. He's a little 'what I want to be: loving husband, loving father and professional coach. Since there is not yet a basketball field and for the second thing is a work in progress ", I think that we should focus on first.
Angelica was really adorable: he knew it, and I think the thing that catches your eye, that "I like magna" and has dabbled in traditional Mexican dishes that I never refused, indeed .... bis and tris at will. Sebas Vicente and really welcomed me with great sympathy.
Well, I can not tovare something negative in these 2 settimane.Bene.
There are also some things that always make me smile when I will remember: the San Mateo Bridge, right coach? A hell when we went at USF, or always in San Francisco, the restaurant "Il Borgo ".... NO GOOD! In practice it was an Italian restaurant, closed and demolished and when we passed the sentence was just that "NO GOOD !"... hihihi ....
I leave you with one last picture that encompasses everything I said above.
And for the "California Dream 2009" is everything.
hug you all and thanks for watching
